World Learner Chinese iPod Audio Book

iPod Family All World Learner Chinese Subscription Users now have access to iPod Enhanced versions of our audiocasts that contain the dialogue of our lessons. Beginning with third-generation iPod with the touch wheel the support of documents called “Notes” where added to the iPod. The gives support for displaying text and interactive multimedia presentations.

If you have an iPod you will now be able to download “Book Indexes” that would allow you to access audiocasts files as “Books” within your iPod using the iPod “Notes” feature. WLC Audiocast Books will be updated to insure that our Subscribers will always have the latest updates of our “Book” list. Subscription User can access these audiocast from the Membership Page after login.

To access the WLC Books Subscription Users must first download the files needed from the “Book List” page. To install the files in you iPod follow the instructions below if you are using the Windows Platform. Other platforms can follow similar steps:

1. WLC Book Lists are iPod “Notes” formatted files that contain links to access files downloaded from this site. First you will need to access the iPod hard disk. To do this first connect your iPod to your computer then start iTunes. In the iTunes program on the left side under the “Device” section you should see the name of your iPod. Make sure you have “Enable disk use” checked. This will allow you to view your iPod’s hard disk with your computer’s file manager.

While your iPod is connected you will see that a connection has been made between your computer and iPod player.

Use your computer’s file manager to view your iPod’s hard disk. On your iPod’s hard dish you will find a directory called “Notes.”

Notice: There are two versions of the iPod Book.

Use "wlcipodmainbook.zip" file if you do not have any other text files or "books" in your "Notes" directory. This is the best configuration for iPod use. Use a .ZIP decompression program to "unpack" the "wlcipodmainbook.zip" file and place the "main.linx" file in the "Notes" directory. Place the remaining files in the "wlc" sub-directory.

If you already have text files or another "books" in your "Notes" directory install the files in the "wlcipodtxtbook.zip" file. Place the "main.txt" in the "Notes" sub-directory. Place the remaining files in the "wlc" directory.

After login Subscription Users can download these files from the bottom of this page. Files are compressed using the ZIP compression file format. Use a ZIP decompression program to unpack the files.

After copying the latest files remember to properly eject your iPod from your computer.

Remember ! Before disconnecting your iPod from your computer you MUST eject your iPod from your computer from either the ejection button on the right side of your iPod’s name under Devices” or from the hardware device settings of your computer.

Properly eject and disconnect your iPod from your computer. After restarting your iPod go to your iPod’s “Notes” index.

If you don’t see the “Notes” tab on your iPod’s list you may need to go to your iPod’s “Settings” to make your “Notes” function accessible. Go to the “Notes” tab to view the contents. You should see a list like the one below.
