Major Update
Announcement
It has been a long time since we’ve done an audiocast announcement. Most of our announcements were done from within our Learning Center. From this point, we will be doing our site and system announcements as an audiocast as well as within the Learning Center section.
In August of this year WLC started creating audiocasts for those taking part in our online training program and posting them to publicly accessible media portals like the iTunes Music Store. Well, as a result of this, we have been getting a lot of mail in the past two months from people visiting our site for the first time asking who we are.
This type of inquiry may seem strange but in our case it isn’t because WLC was founded as a B2B training platform for corporate service personnel working or planning to work in mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore or other Mandarin
Chinese
speaking regions. Most of the students taking part in our courses come from major IT companies in North America, Europe and parts of Asia.
As word got out about our online service, many enquiries began to come in concerning how to apply for our online Mandarin Chinese training. Because of interest in the format of our services, WLC remodeled and integrated major portions of its web sites. Additional enhancements of site services are still being continued today. Those of you who are active in the Learning Center may already know that we will be moving to a completely reformatted and intergraded Learning Center on November 20th Beijing / Taiwan
local time. Because of this many current users will have to re-register to the New Learning Center. We are very sorry for this inconvenience and will do our best to make the transfer to the new system as smooth as possible. In this case it will take some time to repopulate the forums.
Besides major site changes, we are also doing more changes to the format of our current audiocast selections. Besides our twice a week Basic Mandarin audiocast we will be introducing a weekly Intermediate Mandarin audiocast on November 23rd and a lively weekly Upper Intermediate Mandarin audiocast called Chinese Corner on November 28th.
These programs all have accompanied transcripts that assist the learner in understanding the overall content as well as giving a more in-depth breakdown of the grammar components used in the dialogues. These transcripts are available as subscription packages from our website.
